Risk and Safety Manager
at our Headquarters facility in
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for effective risk management for the organization by creating an environment of risk awareness and policies and procedures to promote risk reduction. Establishes the process of identifying, measuring and managing insurable risks, developing reports and plans, and analyzing risk/insurance problems and defining and/or overseeing the implementation of risk solutions that help optimize operations and minimize costs. Operationalizes the design, analysis and delivery of claim information which influences risk management behavior through performance metrics and benchmarking. Manages accountabilities in the administration of first and third party worker's compensation claims. Develops programs, policies, and procedures for: reporting, investigation, and analysis; resolution/outcome management; and the delivery of claim information. Manages moderately complex claims and is entrusted with settlement authority as defined by the organization. Builds, maintains, and manages relationships with claims adjusters, insurers, outside legal counsel, and other claims related parties. Ensures external reporting requirements are met. Formulates, develops, and coordinates safety and loss control functions of the organization. Designs and directs a program to reduce accidents through the development and deployment of safety-training for those employees in positions of particular risk. Maintains compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Responsible for identifying causes of past accidents.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in the risk management field. Risk Manager certification
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent presentation skills.
Strong math and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Database use and management experience.
Keen eye for details and exceptional problem-solving skills.

Strong working knowledge of Federal, state, and OSHA regulations.
